Opening with “yes, and?”, Grande led the crowd through a career-spanning set including “thank u, next”, “7 rings”, “Into You”, and “we can’t be friends (wait for your love)”. Opening night audiences also witnessed the live debut of new tracks “kiss me” and “bad thing (bunny hop)”. On Sunday evening, Grande surprised attendees by bringing out special guest Cynthia Erivo for a duet performance of “For Good” and “Happy Days Are Ahead”. Addressing the crowd on opening night, Grande expressed her gratitude, noting the enthusiasm of the London audience.
The production, directed in collaboration with long-time creative partner Christian Breslauer, is structured into five distinct acts inspired by the visual concepts of her short film Brighter Days Ahead. Accompanied by a 12-member dance crew and a live band, Grande wears six custom stage looks styled by Law Roach, featuring designs from Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, Wiederhoeft, Ludovic de Saint Sernin, and Givenchy by Sarah Burton.
Music critics praised the opening performances. Reviews highlighted her vocal execution, with five-star notices praising the scale of the production, the choreography, and the narrative framework of the show.
Promoted by Live Nation, the UK leg of The Eternal Sunshine Tour follows a run of dates across North America. Grande’s residency at The O2 continues with upcoming performances scheduled through late August and early September 2026.
