‘A Very Laufey Day’ returns for 2026 with worldwide events

Laufey has announced a series of events taking place worldwide to celebrate the 2026 edition of ‘A Very Laufey Day’.

The annual event is back for its fourth year, and sees the Grammy-winning artist curate a wide array of activities for fans, all of which embody her idea of the perfect day.

Taking place on Sunday (August 23), the theme for this year is ‘A Celebration of the Arts’, and includes events centred around the cultural experiences that inspire the Icelandic-Chinese singer, including music, film, dance, theatre and literature.

There are events in more than 75 cities across 25 countries planned, and these include live performances, museum exhibitions, and fan meet-ups in libraries, bookstores, cafes and ice cream shops.

Highlights include exclusive candlelight concerts held in 10 cities around the world, where audiences will hear some of Laufey’s music reimagined and performed by string quartets.

There is also the screening of the Night at the Symphony: Hollywood Bowl concert film, which will be shown at the Grammy Museum’s Clive Davis Theater and at select AMC Theatres locations in the US, as well as chances for fans to meet up at bookshops and purchase limited-edition ‘A Very Laufey Day’ merchandise and specially-made drinks.

“This year it was really about focusing on the arts and culture and finding ways to bring this barrier of entry down between my audience — which is mostly Gen Z and Gen A — and these kind of so-called high cultural experiences,” Laufey told Associated Press about the upcoming 2026 event.

“Whether it’s going to see an orchestra show, museums or galleries, we really want to find ways to connect with those institutions.”

Find a list of the candlelight shows below, and visit here for a full list of events planned.

‘Candlelight: A Very Laufey Day’ shows are:

Berlin, Germany @ Französischer Dom
Boston, MA @ Simons Theatre
Chicago, IL @ The Congress Plaza Hotel & Convention Center
London, UK @ The Great Hall – Barts North Wing
Melbourne, Australia @ The Athenaeum Theatre
New York, NY @ New York Society for Ethical Culture
Orlando, FL @ Orlando Museum of Art
Paris, France @ Maison de l’Océan
Seoul, South Korea @ Jeongdong 1928 Art Center
Washington DC @ National City Christian Church

Laufey dropped her third album ‘A Matter Of Time’ in August 2025. The record was given a four-star review from NME, which described it as being “just as gorgeous as its predecessors” but also having “more darkness shadowing the gleam”.

Earlier this year, the former NME Cover star dropped a deluxe edition the album, which included four new tracks and a reimagining of Madwoman’ that featured contributions from KATSEYE’s Megan Skiendiel, Heated Rivalry star Hudson Williams, Lola Tung from The Summer I Turned Pretty and US Olympic gold medal figure skating champion Alysa Liu.

Before then, Laufey was announced as the headline act of Fortnite’s musical spin-off game Festival, following in the footsteps of Chappell Roan, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, The Weeknd and more. As part of the collaboration, a number of her tracks were added to the game and fans could unlock emotes and cosmetics inspired by her ‘A Matter Of Time’ arena tour.
