Jamie T previews new material and delivers fan favourites at intimate London gig as he announces 2026 UK tour

Jamie T made his return to the live stage last night (August 20) with a last-minute, intimate gig at London’s Scala before announcing a full-scale 2026 UK tour. See what went down and tour details below.

The show was announced last week, with fans reporting tickets selling out in minutes. It marked the musician’s first live performance in almost exactly two years, following a 2024 set at Portsmouth’s Victorious Festival.

As Jamie T – full name Jamie Treays – walked out on stage with his band at 8.30pm, he was greeted with chants from the audience of “Jamie, Jamie, Jamie fucking T!”. The chant reappeared at several moments in the set, including as the artist left the stage for one final time.

The performance took place days after Treays announced details of his sixth album, ‘Ghosts (100 Days Of Morning)’, and he previewed some of the record’s material during the show. ‘Waist 36” Leg 32”’ arrived as the second song of the night, a punky cut with a rousing chorus. The only other new song performed in the set was ‘3310’, the first single to be taken from the upcoming album.

Treays pulled fairly evenly from across his five already-released albums, dropping versions of ‘The Theory Of Whatever’’s ‘The Old Style Raiders’ and ‘90s Cars’ early in the 85-minute set. ‘Rabbit Hole’, from 2014’s ‘Carry On The Grudge’, marked the first moshpit of the night, with pint cups flying through the air as the chorus hit, while the opening note of ‘Panic Prevention’ track ‘Salvador’ caused the audience to break out in a chant of “Ooh! Aah!” “That’s what I hear when I go to sleep,” Treays quipped.

Early in the latter track, though, he realised he’d been singing the wrong lyrics and restarted it. “I worked it out – it was your fucking fault with the ‘ooh! Aah’!” he laughed.

Before ‘Salvador’, Treays took a moment to reflect on his history with the venue. “This is the venue I first played with the band in 200[6],” he told the crowd. “It’s lovely to see you all back, and it’s lovely to be back.”

Sandwiched between ‘The Man’s Machine’ and ‘Dragon Bones’, Treays performed ‘Thank You’, from ‘The Theory Of Whatever’, noting that he had “never really played it live before”, adding that it was written “with a good friend of mine, Mr. Matt Maltese”.

After a short break, he returned for a five-song encore that kicked off with ‘3310’ before Treays picked up an acoustic bass for ‘Back In The Game’. The final three songs took the already sweaty venue to even higher temperatures as ‘Sheila’ prompted the loudest and rowdiest sing-along of the night.

Treays then introduced a special guest to the stage, bringing out The Maccabees’ Hugo White – and longtime collaborator of Treays’ – to play guitar on ‘Sticks N’ Stones’ and ‘Zombies’. Before the former, his host led the crowd in chanting White’s first name before commenting: “Let’s see if he knows this tune.”

“Have a good night, everyone,” Treays said after. “This has been great. I’ll see you again soon.”

‘Ghosts (100 Days Of Morning)’ will be released on October 9 via Polydor Records. White co-produced two of the 11 tracks, while Blur’s Damon Albarn features on and co-wrote ‘Cocktail’. A press release described the album as a “collection of former ghosts (of ideas) brought to life during a difficult time in his life”.

Earlier this year, Treays’ 2023 track ‘Hippodrome’ was sampled by Fred Again.. on his single ‘Lights Burn Dimmer’. The pair performed the track live at a gig at London’s Alexandra Palace, which was one of the producer’s ’10 Shows in 10 Weeks in 10 Cities’ series.
