Noel Gallagher has fuelled rumours that Oasis will return to the road in 2027, saying the band have “got to do something in the summer”.
The guitarist appeared on talkSPORT’s Drive today (September 2), primarily to discuss Manchester City’s start to the new football season with presenters Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent.
Towards the end of the interview, Goldstein asked Gallagher directly whether the rumours were true that Oasis would be playing more shows next summer.
“It’s Liam, isn’t it?” Noel jokingly replied. “He’s not into it. He’s not into Oasis anymore.”
After Goldstein pointed out that Liam Gallagher had recently announced that he was leaving social media, Noel responded: “Well, then there must be something happening.
“Let’s put it this way: there’s no football tournament on next year, so we’ve got to do something in the summer, right?”

There is still no official confirmation about any further Oasis shows following the conclusion of their ‘Live ’25’ reunion tour last November. However, reports have suggested that the band are preparing a major UK and European tour for 2027.
The proposed dates are said to include a 12-night homecoming residency at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium – the home of the Gallagher brothers’ beloved Manchester City – and a return to Knebworth.
Oasis famously played to 250,000 people across two nights at Knebworth in August 1996, with a reported 2.5million people applying for tickets.
There has also been speculation that the band could headline Glastonbury 2027, although Liam recently dismissed those rumours, telling fans: “It’s not happening.”
During the same flurry of social media posts, however, Liam appeared to acknowledge talk of other concerts when he wrote: “Ffs RKID announce the tour we’re all losing our minds.”
Last December, he suggested that Oasis would not tour again before 2027, telling fans: “We’re not doing anything in 2026 sorry.”
The band’s ‘Live ’25’ tour marked their first performances together since their split in 2009. Beginning at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on July 4 last year, the 41-date run took in the UK, Ireland, North America, Asia, Australia and South America before concluding in São Paulo, Brazil, on November 23.
That comeback is now the subject of the forthcoming documentary Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger.
Produced by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight and directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, the film includes rehearsal, backstage and concert footage, alongside Liam and Noel’s first joint interview in more than 20 years.
It also captured the brothers meeting in a studio for the first time in 15 years, using a camera rig hidden in the room.
The documentary is set to premiere at the Venice International Film Festival before being released in cinemas and IMAX on September 11. It will arrive on Disney+ later in 2026.
Meanwhile, speculation also continues about potential new music. Johnny Marr recently revealed that Noel was “writing songs for fun” and “recording songs”, although he did not say whether the material was intended for Oasis.
It could instead be for a follow-up to Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ 2023 album ‘Council Skies’, or another project.
Noel had previously revealed in February that he was “in the studio now”, but no new release has yet been announced.
