Fourteen fans of The Chainsmokers were hospitalised at one of the duo’s latest shows.
During and after the outdoor concert in San Jose,California, on Friday, the victims were transported to local hospitals, according to police and the San Jose Fire Department (SJFD).
Fire officials responded to the concert held at San Jose’s Discovery Meadow at 8:22 pm local time following “reports of multiple patients requiring medical attention” and quickly called for additional support, the SJFD shared on X.
Police “immediately requested an Ambulance Task Force, two additional advanced life support fire units, and a Battalion Chief to manage the incident and provide additional medical resources”, according to the post.
Fourteen ambulances responded to the scene.
It is unclear exactly what the patients were suffering from, but ABC 7 Eyewitness News reported that “several people are recovering from alcohol or drug problems that took place” at the venue.
The Chainsmokers, made up of Alex Pall and Drew Taggart, are known for chart-toppers including Closer, featuring Halsey, and Something Just Like This with Coldplay.
The troubled concert began at 5 pm, with the electronic duo taking the stage sometime on Saturday morning, according to various social media posts.
