Jay-Z ‘warned over strict curfew’ at London shows

Jay-Z ‘warned over strict curfew’ at London shows

Jay-Z was warned he could receive a huge fine if he was late for his two London gigs on his JAŸ-Z30 tour.

The 56-year-old rapper performed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, North London, on Friday (04.09.26) and Saturday nights (05.09.26), but the 99 Problems star had a strict curfew.

A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Jay and his team were warned that, unlike in other venues, lateness just wouldn’t cut it.

“It was made very clear to all that the hardline curfew could cost them tens of thousands of pounds.”

Jay was expected to start by 8pm, and it’s thought there was a 10.30pm curfew in place.

According to the publication, a member of Jay-Z’s touring entourage was overheard saying: “We need to start by 8pm as we have been warned about the very strict 10.30pm curfew here.”

The Empire State of Mind star is said to have rocked up at 8.30pm for his Friday show and appeared to over-run by six minutes.

However, he was on time for his Saturday show.

Several stars were in attendance to watch Jay over the two nights, including Sir David Beckham and Madonna.

While his mini London tour came to a close on Saturday night, the party didn’t stop in the capital.

French Montana and DJ Khaled both took to the stage for an after-party at Cirque in London’s Soho, which ran until 4.30am on Sunday.

On the opening night of his two London gigs, Jay had celebrated his wife Beyoncé’s birthday with fireworks and a singalong.

The rapper – who tied the knot with the Cowboy Carter singer in 2008 – gave Beyoncé a shoutout from the stage at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as she celebrated her 45th birthday on Friday.

After Jay-Z took a brief break in his set to pay tribute to Beyoncé, who was in attendance, a spectacular burst of fireworks erupted around the stadium.

Beyoncé – who was in a VIP box suite with friends – appeared on the large screen as Jay-Z and the crowd serenaded her with Happy Birthday.

Beyoncé, wearing a casual hoodie, blew kisses to the crowd and waved to fans and could be seeing mouthing the words “Oh my God”.
