Lily Allen ‘approached’ for Glastonbury 2027

Lily Allen ‘approached’ for Glastonbury 2027

Lily Allen has reportedly been invited to perform at Glastonbury next year.

An insider has claimed the world-famous festival’s organiser Emily Eavis has asked the Smile hitmaker to play at Worthy Farm when it makes its return in 2027.

A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Emily loves Lily and sees her as one of Britain’s musical greats.

“Earlier this summer she officially asked Lily if she would play at Glastonbury next year.

“As long as her schedule allows it, I’m sure she will accept.

“Lily has a long history with Glasto, and to return to the festival after all this time would really be a sign she’s back to her best.”

It comes off the back of the success of her acclaimed album, West End Girl.

Lily last played her own set at Glastonbury on the Pyramid Stage in 2014.

However, in 2022, she joined Olivia Rodrigo on the Other Stage as a special guest.

The pair performed a cover of Lily’s 2008 hit F*** You in response to the overturning of the Roe v Wade ruling, which left millions of women across the US without access to legal or safe abortions.

Olivia, 23, said: “I’m devastated and terrified. So many women and so many girls are going to die because of this. I wanted to dedicate this next song to the five members of the Supreme Court who have showed us that at the end of the day, they truly don’t give a s*** about freedom. The song is for the justices: Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh. We hate you! We hate you.”

Lily, 41, could be seen swearing with her middle fingers as Olivia rhymed off the names of the justices.

She told the crowd: “This is actually my first Glastonbury and I’m sharing this stage with Lily, this is the biggest dream come true ever. But I’m also equally as heartbroken about what happened in America yesterday!”

The song – which was written by Lily and featured on her second album It’s Not Me, It’s You – was initially inspired by then-President George W. Bush, who Lily described as a “f****** a********.”

Some of the lyrics include: “F***you, f*** you very very much

“We hate what you and we hate your whole crew, so please don’t stay in touch.”
