The 13-track record marks the group’s first self-produced full-length release. Moving away from the expansive production style of their previous releases, O My Beloved presents a stripped-back sound inspired by the early material written following the band’s initial arrival in Nashville.
The album’s themes center on family, personal reflections, and gratitude across the group’s career. Frontman Caleb Followill, alongside band members Nathan, Jared, and Matthew Followill, drew inspiration from personal experiences and childhood memories when writing the material.
“We have already surpassed anything we ever imagined we could do, and we’ve built something that is so special,” said lead singer Caleb Followill. “I thought, wouldn’t it be beautiful to make an album that is looking back on all of the things that we’ve done and appreciating how we got here. In the songs, there’s our families, stories from our childhood, things that maybe didn’t seem that significant at the time, but the way they find their way into these songs kind of lets me realise how impactful they really were in my life.”
Alongside the announcement, the band released the album’s lead single, “My Whole World,” accompanied by an official music video. The track offers an emotionally charged intro to the record’s more personal tone.
To celebrate the release announcement, Kings of Leon performed an intimate live show at The Basement East venue in Nashville, returning to a club setting reminiscent of their earliest live performances in the city.
Since their 2003 debut, Kings of Leon have sold more than 20 million albums and 40 million singles globally. O My Beloved follows their 2024 album Can We Please Have Fun and their 2025 release EP #2. The new album is available for pre-order ahead of its November release.
