5 Things Drake Really Wanted Us to Notice in His ‘FOMO’ Livestream

Written by: News Room Last updated: September 16, 2026

Drake’s promotion of Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO) four months after unleashing three albums left many wondering whether a fourth LP was on the horizon. The Tuesday evening (Sept. 15) live premiere didn’t exactly answer that question, but, unsurprisingly, the 6 God previewed new music and delivered videos for records from HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR that were not included in ICEMAN Episode 4.

Although Drake clarified that it would be a “not-so-short film,” FOMO was a buffet-style, hour-long visual loaded with the Toronto superstar’s daily grooming routines, pickleball, summer travels, partying, silliness, luxurious flexes, nostalgic callbacks, and more. Though many have turned their backs on him in recent years, he made sure to include several folks within his inner circle who stayed true, such as Kevin Durant, Sexyy Red, TV Gucci, Gordo, Zack Bia, and more.

Some new friends and collaborators also popped up, adding even more excitement about what could be coming soon. (Not to mention, he announced a world tour is on the docket for 2027 in an interview before the stream.) Between his trio of albums in 2026, a possible fourth, and another worldwide trek, Drake’s 2026-2027 is already worth discussing among his most lauded eras, namely his Take Care, Views, and Scorpion LPs.

If you haven’t watched FOMO, have no fear. VIBE is here to give you the five key takeaways.

Women Will Always Be Drake’s North Star

Most of FOMO was soundtracked by records from the May R&B project HABIBTI and dance-ready MAID OF HONOUR, so it only made sense that women made up the majority of the film. Sexyy Red sported red lace and twerked in his house for the “Cheetah Print” video, Stunna Sandy joined him to ride jet skis in Turks and Caicos for “Outside Tweaking,” and his mother Sandra “Sandy” Graham—with her new “ICEMOM” tattoo—had a night out on the town with her friends for the “True Bestie” visual. Drake even included footage of their conversation about how long they had been friends and how they met him as a child. In another moment, they’re in a car talking about how confused they were when they first heard “True Bestie.”

Editor’s picks

Winnie Harlow, Lena The Plug, and his “20 V 1” winner Pinkchyu also had lengthy cameos. Lena stopped by “The Embassy” and took a dip in the pool as he looked on from his balcony. Pinkchyu got a full shopping spree, which included Drizzy dressing up as a goth to match her energy. They also sat on thrones and watched gladiators fight one another at Medieval Times. He dedicated a lot of time to spotlight his third annual Strong Women, Stronger Drinks event, where he gifted attendees vehicles, bags, and money. Some may call it pandering, image rehabilitation, or anything that would devalue his consistent commitment to highlighting women throughout his career. Either way, it was effective, well-curated, and true to the Certified Lover Boy’s ethos.

In the Case of a “Classic” Second Verse, Bullying Works

Ask, or beg, and you shall receive. While many fans were happy with Drake’s three-album drop, one of the biggest complaints was about how the HABIBTI standout “Classic” was too short. Well, deep into the film, he premiered a second part of the song while BenDaDonn and his Kappa Alpha Psi brothers shimmied to the record. It wasn’t a long addition, but it was enough to satisfy the people and show he caters to his fans’ requests.

2026’s Top Rappers Have Been in the Studio

When Drake popped out at Don Toliver’s Toronto show in August and performed records from ICEMAN for the first time, it was a layered moment. First, they are undoubtedly the top two rappers with the top two rap albums of 2026, whether you measure the statistics or cultural impact. So for them to link up was a huge moment in itself. Second, it was the biggest look of the Houston star’s career. Third, it begged one question: will they ever collaborate?

Fans got their answer when two different tracks were previewed in FOMO. Both were melodic, mid-to-downtempo songs, but one stood out: the teased remix of Ella Langley’s long-running Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “Choosin’ Texas.” Don crooned over a “Get Throwed” sample as footage of him and Drizzy hanging out appeared on screen. Langley even got a quick cameo from their backstage linkup at her recent show.

Drizzy teased nearly ten new records and mixes in the film, ranging from acoustic ballads to island bops, New Orleans bounce tracks, and another rager with Yeat. It’s unclear when and where they’ll all land, but the people are definitely ready for more new music after already getting 43 songs in May.

“Subtle Reminders Are Key”

If you polled a variety of Drake fans about words that come to mind when thinking of him, a common answer would be nostalgia. He knows this and often leans into it. In FOMO, he showed off several of his legendary music video backdrops and cover art: the original dinner table from Take Care, the twin towers from $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, the beach from “God’s Plan,” his foyer featured in “Toosie Slide,” the pillars from “Whisper My Name,” the colorful room from “Hotline Bling, and many, many more.

It doubled as a fun trip down memory lane and a reminder of what he has provided throughout his storied career. People tried to write his ending from March 2024 onward, yet he stands stronger than ever, and undoubtedly no artist can match his output.

Fun Is a Priority, But Drake Hasn’t Fully Let Vengeance Go

It’s not a Drake visual if he isn’t being unserious. He sported a blue Michael Jackson-esque jacket and did his best MJ dance moves in the “Cheetah Print” visual, cosplayed a gothic man with Pinkchyu while “Princess” played, dressed up as Iron Man alongside War Machine-dressed Loe Shimmy while playing carnival games to the tune of “I’m Spent,” and sang along to “Rusty Intro” at a dive bar while women played pool. It was another reminder that he is arguably at the peak of his powers when he isn’t being too rigid, which is hilarious considering how venomous he was on ICEMAN just four months ago.

Trending Stories

Make no mistake, though: he still had bars for the naysayers. As the credits rolled at the end of FOMO, he spat multiple noteworthy lines in an unreleased cut. “Rap is all we had, they f**ked it up,” “I felt like Arthur in that meme, my fist was balled up,” and “Funny how y’all gon’ die up on this hill, this sh*t hilarious.” In an earlier track, he sang “I got way more money than friends right now.”

One of the biggest critiques of ICEMAN was that he was still hung up on the 2024 rap beef with Kendrick Lamar and all of the friends he had lost, but when you consider the public lashings he took and is still taking, not to mention human emotions, him still having things to say about his enemies makes all of the sense in the world. Time will tell if he will ever truly move on, but for now, even though he’s having a blast in life, he hasn’t forgotten what people said and did to him. It is Iceman season, after all.
