Later… With Jools Holland is set to return next month with appearances from Johnny Marr, Jamie T, Violet Grohl, Bloc Party and more. Find all the details below.
The long-running music show’s 69th series will premiere on BBC Two on Sunday October 11. It’ll feature live performances and interviews, filmed at Alexandra Palace Theatre in London.
Paul Heaton is due to perform on episode one in support of his first-ever UK Number One solo album, ‘Jenius’.
The rest of the performers on the first instalment will be making their TV debuts on Later… With Jools Holland. These are NME 100 alumni Skye Newman, former NME Cover stars Mary In The Junkyard, gospel-inspired Northampton rapper DC3, and Wiltshire singer-songwriter Dermot Henry.
Former Smiths guitarist Marr, meanwhile, will speak to host Jools Holland about his new solo record, ‘The Age Of Everything’ (out this Friday, October 2), on episode one.
Also confirmed to appear across the series are the aforementioned Jamie T, Bloc Party and Violet Grohl, along with Royal Blood, Tony Iommi, Courtney Barnett, Dexys Midnight Runners, Kingfishr, Shygirl, Corto.Alto, Ayanna Witter-Johnson, Elkie Brooks, Ibibio Sound Machine, Madra Salach, Moses Boyd, Mulaa Joans and Emily Bear.

Marr recently spoke to NME about his upcoming LP. “I’m usually quite deliberate. I went into this record with a real sense of purpose; that’s why we played eight out of the 10 songs live on the road,” he told us.
“Pretty much every band I’ve been in, and most of the guitar bands I’ve been around, have at one point said, ‘You know what we should do before we record the next album? We should gig the songs’. It never happens, but once I get an idea that I think is a good one, I’m a little like a dog with a bone.
“I remember Brian Eno is the same in that. I’m not terribly impulsive, but I am decisive. Unless something comes along and knocks me off that course, then I pretty much see it through. Damon [Albarn] is like that too.”
Jamie T is gearing up to release his next LP ‘Ghosts (100 Days Of Morning)’ in October, and recently previewed the collection with the single ‘Tallahassee’. He spoke to NME at Reading Festival 2026 this summer, too, as did Royal Blood. The latter’s fifth album ‘Dead Company’ is out in November, and features the duo’s latest track ‘Swallow The Bomb’.
Violet Grohl dropped her debut record, ‘Be Sweet To Me’, in May. Elsewhere, Bloc Party shared this seventh full-length project, ‘Anatomy Of A Brief Romance’, earlier this month.
Series 68 of Later… With Jools Holland wrapped up in June. Performers included Niall Horan, Florence + The Machine, Lola Young, Jessie Ware, Holly Humberstone, Mitski, Ellie Goulding and James Blake.
