Akriila is the print cover star of the September/October 2026 issue of NME Magazine, which is out now, bundled with Guitar.com Magazine featuring Towa Bird.
Having first launched in 1952, NME’s last printed edition of the weekly incarnation of the magazine stopped in 2018. In July 2023, NME announced our return to print with a bi-monthly global magazine that showcases the best new artists and bands on earth, alongside exclusive new franchises, unmissable features, industry insight and expert reviews of the latest music, TV, film, and gaming releases.
Now available exclusively via retailer Dawsons, our penultimate issue of the year features Chilean genre-bender Akriila on the cover. This issue of NME Magazine comes bundled with a copy of Guitar.com Magazine, which features Towa Bird on the cover. NME and Guitar.com are sister publications under NME Networks.
Each issue of NME Magazine is fronted by an edition of The Cover: NME’s flagship editorial property that champions emerging talent, elevating new artists and bands as part of our commitment to global new music discovery. Profiled for The Cover by Charis McGowan and shot in London by photographer Lo Harley, Akriila shed light on her music journey so far, from her bedroom in Santiago to the city’s trap scene, and her latest album ‘Lucy Miró Al Mundo Y Notó Que Está Girando’, which she released in September.
The September/October 2026 issue of NME Magazine also features interviews with Trim, Tyla and This Is Lorelei; photos from Reading Festival 2026; and the classic 15×15 NME crossword, which we brought back last issue.
Artists who have graced the cover of the print magazine previously include ENHYPEN, Laufey, The Last Dinner Party, Chappell Roan, Kneecap, LE SSERAFIM, Nemahsis, Oklou, Kwn, Waylon Wyatt, BOYNEXTDOOR, Rose Gray, Mandy, Indiana and Yves.
