Karol G has dished out high praise to Drake regarding his grasp of the Spanish language.
The Colombian-born Latin pop superstar raved to The New York Times music and culture podcast Popcast about the rapper’s performance in Spanish on their Ahí collaboration.
“I love him singing in Spanish, and he does it so good that when I presented the song to him, he was like, ‘Should I do like a verse in English or something?'” she recalled.
“And I was like, ‘You should do it in Spanish. You sound so good in Spanish.’ He said, ‘Come and make me do it perfectly.'”
The TQG singer coached Drake line-by-line, making sure he nailed the pronunciation of certain words.
“I tried to just play a little bit with his pronunciation,” she added. “It was so much fun; he’s amazing.”
Ahí topped the Hot Latin Songs chart, and peaked at No. 44 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Drake recently joined Karol G’s Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour in Toronto. He also joined the Colombian superstar on stage at her Houston show, where they performed the live debut of Ahí. He then stuck around to perform Janice STFU and One Dance.
Despite plenty of online fan speculation, neither Drake nor Karol G has confirmed that they are dating.
