Selena Gomez has conceded that vaping nicotine “a lot” has “changed” her voice.
In a candid video posted to her Instagram Stories on Sunday, the singer-actress shared that the sound of her voice has been altered by the habit.
“I’m not gonna be able to change my voice. I vaped nicotine a lot, and just so everyone knows that’s somewhat vaped,” she stated. “Nicotine is so hard to quit.”
Selena went on to urge fans not to vape or smoke cigarettes if they can avoid it.
“I think I just wanted to say if you’re going through it, or if you’re even trying to vape, it’s just not worth it. It’s so stupid,” the Only Murders in the Building star continued. “It’s changed my voice. So, if you guys don’t like listening to my voice, that’s totally understandable. I don’t mind. Just don’t listen to it.”
To conclude, Selena revealed that she had recently quit vaping.
“I am really excited because I stopped, and I just hope I can keep it up. It’s really hard,” she added.
Last December, fans asked the superstar about apparent changes to her voice amid a Q&A on Instagram Live.
“I’ve gotten this question a few times. The voice thing,” the 34-year-old said at the time. “Sometimes things happen. I get weird. My throat kind of swells inside sometimes. That’s all.”
Selena released her last album, I Said I Love You First, in collaboration with her husband, producer Benny Blanco, in March 2025.
