League Of Legends’ K-pop group K/DA released their first song in six years but Madison Beer is no longer involved in the project.
Made up of League Of Legends champions, K/DA released their first single ‘Pop/Stars’ in 2018 before the ‘All Out’ EP followed in 2020. For that run of songs, i-dle members Miyeon and Soyeon voiced Ahri and Akali, Madison Beer was behind Evelynn and Kai’Sa’s voice came courtesy of Jaira Burns.
After six years without releasing music, K/DA returned yesterday (Monday October 19) with comeback single ‘Firestarter’ and a new line-up. Miyeon and Soyeon of i-dle have returned as Ahri and Akali while Sophie Powers replaces Beer as Evelynn and Mimi Webb takes over from Burns as Kai’Sa.

K/DA aren’t the only virtual League Of Legends band that Riot Games have revived this month. True Damage returned two weeks ago with the New York drill-inspired ‘Know My Name’, that’ll also serve as the anthem for the 2026 Worlds competition.
The goal with these virtual groups, according to Riot Games’ Alex Shahmiri, is to keep pushing the boundaries of how music and video games can crossover. “We’ve seen and appreciated how players love Riot’s music, to the point that it’s a joke that Riot’s really a music company fronting as a games company. We know that with every music release there are high expectations and while we might not always get it right, it’s something we put a lot of care into,” he told NME.
“There’s a lot of excitement around how we can better serve players with music, so I’m excited to see what we can cook up in the next few years. I think the possibilities are endless because we still have barely scratched the surface on what this alternate universe can be.”
