âI am thrilled to be headlining LA Pride in the Park because it’s an incredible opportunity to celebrate love, diversity, and equality,â Martin said
Los Angeles will be livinâ la vida loca at this yearâs LA Pride in the Park. On Friday, the festival announced that Ricky Martin will headline the event scheduled for June 8 at Los Angeles State Historic Park.
âI am thrilled to be headlining LA Pride in the Park because itâs an incredible opportunity to celebrate love, diversity, and equality,â said Martin in a press release. âLA Pride is a testament to the power of community, the power of visibility, and the power of standing up for our rights. Being part of this vibrant community fills me with pride and purpose.â
LA Pride in the Park will announce the rest of its lineup for the fest, which follows the theme of Power in Pride, in the coming weeks. With the performance, the Puerto Rican superstar will be the first-ever openly queer Latin act to headline the major event, and also marks Martinâs first headliner performance for a pride event. Tickets are currently on sale on LA Prideâs website for $111 for general admission and $375 for VIP admission.
âWith his electrifying stage presence and chart-topping hits, Ricky Martin has long been an inspiration to millions around the world,â said Gerald Garth, board president of LA Pride, in a press release. âHis participation in LA Pride in the Park goes beyond mere entertainment; it symbolizes a powerful affirmation of queer Latin identity and a celebration of diversity within the LGBTQ+ community.â
Last yearâs two-day event was headlined by Mariah Carey and Megan Thee Stallion, and featured performances from acts such as Fletcher, King Princess, and G-Flip.
The Los Angeles area will also have West Hollywood Prideâs Outloud Fest the weekend prior, featuring headlining performances from Kylie Minogue and Janelle MonĂĄe. Doechii, Ashnikko, Keke Palmer, and Noah Cyrus are also set to appear at the June 1 and 2 fest.
