Sabrina Carpenter has spoken out about her rise to fame over the past year, and how Taylor Swift has been the perfect role model.
Talking on CBS’ Sunday Morning show The Espresso singer-songwriter, who has opened for Swift several times on the Eras Tour – shared, “You just watch her walk in a room and it’s very easy to understand that she’s so composed, she’s graceful, she’s gracious. I wouldn’t say it’s a verbal thing as much as just, like, she’s very supportive of me and knows who I am as a person and is very supportive of that. So I’m grateful for that.”
While it may seem that Carpenter has had a meteoric rise to fame, it’s actually been a decade since the release of her debut single.
The Short n’ Sweet artist described the rise to stardom as an “individual, unique experience”.
“You just kind of figure it out along the way. I know that sounds a little vague but I really do think that you find the people that you surround yourself with that make you feel safe and go from there,” she advised.
The singer recently announced UK and European tour dates, which will take place next year with Rachel Chinouriri as a special guest. The shows kick off at 3Arena in Dublin on 3 March, with shows in Birmingham, London and Manchester to follow.
