Shaboozey has revealed that he wrote a romance novel as a teenager.
The A Bar Song (Tipsy) hitmaker has revealed that he toyed with the idea of becoming a novelist as a teenager and even started writing a romance novel.
“I started writing a romance novel when I was around 18,” Shaboozey, 29, told Cosmopolitan in a recent interview. “I have it on my phone.”
“It was about an art thief engaging in something pretty taboo and the other was an art enthusiast,” he continued of the book. “It was about these two people who were very well connected to each other and met later in life under the pretence of art.”
The singer explained that after writing 300 pages of the novel, he realised how much effort goes into creating a book.
“I got, like, 300 pages in and then I left it alone,” he told the publication. “I realised it would take a lot of time to really finish it out. Maybe I got lazy. It felt like I needed 400 more pages to finish.”
Shaboozey, real name Collins Chibueze, added that he didn’t have “an outline” for the book, he simply started writing a story.
Despite exploring the genre with his unfinished project, the chart-topping star admitted he had “actually never read a romance novel”.
