Karol G was the big winner at the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards.
She took out a total of eight trophies including Global 200 Latin Artist of the Year and Tour of the Year.
Her song Qlona, with Peso Pluma, won the awards for Hot Latin Song of the Year and Streaming Song of the Year.
Neither of the artists were at the event to receive their honours.
Neither was Bad Bunny, who received six awards including Artist of the Year. His album Nadie Sabe lo que Va a Pasar Mañana was named Top Latin Album of the Year.
Pluma also won six awards including Songwriter of the Year.
Xavi won the coveted award for Artist of the Year, New. The young Mexican music star went up to the stage somewhat incredulous to accept his trophy.
“I can’t believe it,” he said. “I really was super excited just to be chosen, and I’m super grateful to everyone who supported us and believed in us from the beginning. I’m getting sentimental, compadre, but really, thanks to all of you.”
