The album arrives on Dec. 13 with appearances from Tom Petty, Jelly Roll, 50 Cent, Eminem, DJ the Chicago Kid, Sting, and more
Snoop Dogg is getting into position for the release of his upcoming album Missionary, out Dec. 13. The rapper recruited Jhené Aiko for “Gorgeous,” the first single from the Dr. Dre-produced LP, which features additional production from Blu2th, Preach Bal4, and FredWreck.
The upbeat track sees Snoop and Aiko swapping vocals. On the chorus, she croons, “Under the skies, stars in your eyes/ This is euphoric/ We can be anything, this is everything/ We do the wildest things ’til six in the mornin’.”
Snoop announced the record with a movie-style trailer where a woman is greeted at her door by two mormon missionaries and realizes in the moment that she misunderstood their mission. “Your ad says you’re dedicated to missionary work,” she told them, opening the door in full lingerie.
Missionary features a stacked slate of collaborators including Tom Petty and Jelly Roll on “Last Dance With Mary Jane,” 50 Cent and Eminem on “Gunz N Smoke,” Method Man and Smitty on “Skyscrapers,” Dr. Dre and BJ the Chicago Kid on “Now or Never,” Dem Jointz, Stalone, and Fat Money on “Gangsta Pose,” and more. Sting, K.A.A.N., Alus, and Cocoa Sarai also appear on the record.
The album also marks Snoop’s first full-length collaboration with Dr. Dre since the rapper’s debut album Doggystyle.
