The criminal case brought against Zach Bryan in 2023 has been officially closed.
People magazine confirmed with the Craig County, Oklahoma District Attorney’s Office that as of 14 November, Bryan had successfully completed the six-month deferred prosecution agreement he entered into after his September 2023 arrest for obstruction of investigation.
The criminal case against him has now concluded.
“He admitted responsibility and followed all of the rules and conditions of probation,” the statement read.
Bryan was arrested after his security guard was pulled over for speeding on 7 September 2023.
The I Remember Everything singer was taken into custody and charged with the misdemeanour of “interfering with a traffic stop” after his black Ram truck pulled up alongside his security guard’s vehicle.
During the stop, Bryan reportedly left his vehicle, ignored an officer’s demand for him to get back inside, and said, “I’ll go to jail. Let’s do it.” He further claimed this kind of situation was why “people do not like police officers”.
His security detail had been pulled over for travelling at 78 mph in a 55 mph zone, and 60 mph in a 35 mph zone, according to the affidavit.
The Hey Driver artist was released on a $1,000 (£790) bond after being booked in Craig County jail.
