Cardi B has claimed she can easily spend $3 million (£2.3 million) a month.
Earlier this week, the I Like It rapper uploaded a sponsored ad for the clothing brand Shein to her Instagram page.
However, some fans questioned Cardi – real name Belcalis Almánzar – over the reason why she would collaborate with a fast fashion label when she mostly wears designer outfits.
Taking to X on Wednesday, the superstar posted a voice recording in which she insisted she isn’t just “surviving” and can actually spend “about $3 million in a month”.
“People say that I’m surviving off Shein deals and brand deals – wait hold on,” she began. “I want to let y’all know I could wake up tomorrow, sign a contract, and have half of $65 million – or half of $70 million – in my bank.”
In addition, Cardi uploaded a screenshot of a text message exchange that she allegedly had with a concert promoter in September.
As part of the conversation, the mother-of-three indicated she had been in negotiations for a tour that would have seen her get paid $1 million (£780,000) per concert for a “total” of $65 million (£51 million) and that she would have received “half the money upfront upon signing the contract”.
Yet, Cardi rejected the apparent deal as the offer was made during her “off year”.
The 32-year-old and her estranged husband Offset welcomed their third child together, a daughter, in September.
Elsewhere in the rant, Cardi noted that she won’t be going on tour again until she releases another album.
“I don’t want to take tour deals until I announce my album because when I announce my album I know they’re going to up it,” she added. “You have to move smart. You can’t act hungry when you’re not.”
Cardi dropped her debut studio album, Invasion of Privacy, in 2018.
