Singer teased a new song from her upcoming album, Finally Over It
Summer Walker‘s “Heart of a Woman” is the only thing keeping her from taking drastic measures against a cheating partner, at least at first, in her new video. On Monday, the R&B star released the Lacey Duke-directed visual for her October single, with rap star NLE Choppa starring as her unfaithful lover.
“In love with you, but can’t stand your ways/And I try to be strong/But how much can I take?” sings Walker as the video follows Walker reliving the intimate moments with her partner before she finds out her man is being unfaithful.
In one scene, Walker watches as Choppa flirts with a woman during her own photoshoot. Meanwhile, the day of the infidelity replays once again as she takes a different course of action every time.
The video ends with Walker taking the only action to save her from heartbreak: She lights the house (with NLE Choppa in it) on fire.
The first 15 seconds of the video teases an upcoming song, which will be featured on the third album of her Over It trilogy, Finally Over It, which is expected next year. Finally Over It follows Still Over It from 2021 and 2019’s Over It.
Rolling Stone‘s review of her second album in the trilogy describes Still Over It as “the affirmation of new love that Walker’s fans have been waiting to hear for years: Lord willing, Summer Walker still has a lot of life — in love, and in music — ahead of her. “
The singer is celebrating her upcoming new era of music with a radio series, Over It Radio with Apple Music, where she’s featured guests including Sexyy Redd and Yung Miami.
