K-pop girl group ITZY have released a cover of Wonder Girls’ 2011 single ‘Be My Baby’.
On Christmas Eve, the five-member girl group dropped a special clip of themselves performing Wonder Girls’ 2011 hit single ‘Be My Baby’. The new clip features behind-the-scenes footage of ITZY recording the cover in the studio, later coming together to dance along to the song.
“Please be my baby, please be my baby / Whenever I think about you, I go crazy / ‘Cause I want to have you / Make me your lady, make me your lady / I will give you my love and I will never make you regret, no,” they sing in the chorus.
‘Be My Baby’ was the title track to Wonder Girls’ second studio album ‘Wonder World’, and is one of several hit singles released by the now-disbanded JYP Entertainment girl group. The song was written and produced by the company’s founder and singer Park Jin-young.
Back in October, ITZY released their ninth mini-album ‘GOLD’, their new music as a quintet for the first time in over a year, following the return of vocalist Lia from a lengthy health-related hiatus.
The record was led by its title track of the same name and included the promotional B-side ‘Imaginary Friend’, for which the group released a music video shortly after its release. In addition to several new B-sides, ‘GOLD’ also included re-recorded versions of tracks from their January mini-album ‘Born to Be’, which was largely recorded in Lia’s absence.
In other K-pop news, soloist Chung Ha has dropped a music video for her new holiday track ‘There Goes Santa Claus!’. The festive new visual notably includes a cameo from several K-pop stars, including some of her ex-bandmates from the project girl group I.O.I.
