Adele has confirmed she will take a break from music for a “long time” after she concludes her Las Vegas residency in November.
The Rolling in the Deep singer, 36, concluded the last of 10 shows at the 80,000-capacity Messe München arena in Germany on Saturday – and told fans she will soon be stepping away from music.
“I’m not the most comfortable performer, I know that, but I am very f**king good at it,” she told her fans. “And I have really enjoyed performing for nearly three years now, which is the longest I’ve ever done and probably the longest I’ll ever do.”
Talking about her sell-out Weekends with Adele shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, she added: “After that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time.”
She added: “I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole length of my break, and I will fantasise about these shows and any shows that I’ve done over the last three years. It has been amazing, I just need a rest! I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it now. I will remember these shows for eternity, they have been spectacular.”
During a show on 9 August she announced her engagement to sports agent Rich Paul by responding to a fan’s “marry me” sign by saying, “I can’t marry you – because I’m already getting married!”
Adele was previously married to entrepreneur Simon Konecki, with whom she has a son, Angelo, 11, from 2018 to 2021.
