Anne-Marie has reflected on her “hardest year” soon after her husband Slowthai was cleared of rape.
Earlier this month, Grammy-nominated rapper Slowthai, 30, was found not guilty of raping a fan at a party in 2021.
His wife, singer Anne-Marie, has now taken to social media for the first time since the rapper, real name Tyron Frampton, was acquitted of the charge on 16 December.
“2024 the most beautiful yet hardest year of our lives,” the 33-year-old singer wrote in a new Instagram post, which features a series of photos from throughout the year, including a glimpse of their baby daughter.
“God really tryina see how strong I am hahaha (sic),” she added. “I miss you all and I love you all more than you’ll ever know.”
The Ciao Adios hitmaker ended her post by seemingly teasing new music, writing, “I have SO MUCH for you in the new year that you’ll probably be sick of me (please don’t be) have the best break if you can and see you soon.”
After a two-week trial and more than 10 hours of deliberation, a jury at Oxford Crown Court found Slowthai and his friend Alex Blake-Walker not guilty of rape.
The men were accused of raping two women at a house party in Oxford in the early hours of 8 September. During the court hearing, the rapper insisted the women were “lying” and the sex was consensual.
Anne-Marie and Slowthai tied the knot in secret in Las Vegas in July 2022 and welcomed their daughter, reportedly named Seven, in February.
