Ariana Grande would need “an extra brain and four more arms” to make a new album.

The Wicked: For Good actress has confirmed there will “definitely” be no music from her before she embarks on her Eternal Sunshine Tour in June because she has been so busy with her other commitments.

She told Variety about the possibility of a new record: “No — definitely not. Nothing is coming before May.

“I love [the fans] so much, but sometimes I want to ask, ‘Do you think there’s another version of me out there who had time to write an album?’ Not yet — but soon enough.”

After the interview was published, Ariana – who released her last album, Eternal Sunshine, in March 2024 – clarified her comments on Instagram.

She commented on a fan account’s post about the Variety piece: “welp i never said ‘but soon enough’ or mentioned any months ! lol my goooooodness.

“all i said was ‘no’ and ‘do they think there’s a clone of me out there somewhere’! there must’ve been a zoom glitch or something. but hello + love you all.(sic)”

In a second comment on the same post, she added: “ma’am i would need an extra brain and four more arms.(sic)”

Ariana recently teased her preparations for her first tour in seven years are “in a good place”.

Speaking with E! News at the Critics Choice Awards last weekend, she said: “I’ve been working on the set list for months now.

“It’s in a good place, but we’ll never know until we get into the rehearsals – which are starting very soon – and we put things on their feet if it’ll make sense or not.”

The Eternal Sunshine Tour will be the Side To Side hitmaker’s first concert trek since 2019’s Sweetener World Tour, and Ariana is not giving anything away.

When asked what fans can expect from the upcoming tour, she said: “I want to let it be a surprise.”

She added: “I am grateful to work, and I’m excited for the tour.”

The 7 Rings hitmaker previously declared her Eternal Sunshine Tour would be her “last hurrah” because she may not hit the road again for a “long, long time”.

During an appearance on the Good Hang with Amy Poehler podcast, she explained: “I think the last 10 to 15 years will look very different to the ones that are coming up …

“I don’t want to say any definitive things. I do know that I’m very excited to do this small tour, but I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long time …

“[The tour is] going to be beautiful and I’m so grateful that – I think that’s why I’m doing it because I’m like, ‘One last hurrah.’ For now.”
