Becky G’s Baraja Bendita is a blessed draw on Top Latin Pop Albums, as the set opens at No. 2 on the chart dated Aug. 29, marking her first debut on the ranking in over four years. Her fifth studio album also bows at Nos. 7 and 12 on Top Latin Rhythm Albums and Top Latin Albums charts, respectively.
Before Baraja Bendita, Becky G managed her first No. 1 on any albums chart through the eight-week chart-topper Esquemas on Top Latin Pop Albums in 2022. Rewind two years, and Mala Santa dealt her another strong hand: the 2019 set debuted and peaked at No. 3 on both Top Latin Albums and Latin Rhythm Albums. A pair of later projects hit the Top Regional Mexican Albums chart: Esquinas (No. 3 in 2023) and Encuentros (No. 9 in 2024). Both also landed top 15 placements on the overall Top Latin Albums ranking.
Baraja Bendita starts with 7,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States on the tracking week ending Aug. 20, according to Luminate. Of that batch, streaming activity contributed 5,000 units — equal to 4.6 million official on-demand clicks of the album’s songs. Traditional album sales accounted for 3,000 units, while a negligible amount of activity derived from track-equivalent sales.
Baraja Bendita also starts at No. 12 on Top Latin Albums, as her fifth career entry on the overall Latin albums tally. The set further deals her first Top Latin Rhythm Albums entry in nearly seven years, since Mala Santa in 2019.
Baraja was ushered in by its second single, “EPA,” which climbed to No. 47 on the hybrid Hot Latin Songs chart in May. As Becky G reclaims upper territory on Top Latin Pop Albums, two tracks from the new album make chart moves of their own: “Chula” debuts at No. 11 on Hot Latin Pop Songs, while “Mal Tiempo” — the set’s lone tropical cut — opens at No. 19 on Hot Tropical Songs.
