The Baywatch star celebrated the music video for the Cowboy Carter cut “Bodyguard,” where Bey cosplayed the actress
On Tuesday, Beyoncé shared the first music video from Cowboy Carter, channeling Halloween and Election Day at once. In it, she donned three iconic Pamela Anderson looks. Now, the actress has celebrated them on her own Instagram stories. “Don’t call me bey… [kissy face emoji],” she wrote while sharing Beyonce’s mock movie poster in which she cosplayed Anderson’s character in the 1996’s high octane sci-fi Barb Wire. Anderson also posted a clip of the video with Beyoncé going full Pam.
As Anderson in Barb Wire for “Bodyguard,” Beyoncé fires a fake gun that unfurls a “Vote!” message flag. Last week at a hometown rally in Houston, the Renaissance singer endorsed Kamala Harris, who ultimately failed to clinch the presidency. “Imagine our daughters growing up seeing what’s possible with no ceilings, no limitations,” she said at the time. “We must vote, and we need you.”
Elsewhere in the “Bodyguard” video, Beyonce donned a red lifeguard suit akin to Anderson’s in Baywatch (Bey’s reading “Beywatch”) and the fuzzy, pink-hat ensemble Anderson wore to the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards. In a photo still among a set of them posted to her grid, she teased fans who clamored for Renaissance music videos with a mock red-carpet backdrop that read “No Visual Awards” instead. She captioned the post “Beylloween fin.”
In recent years, Anderson has released a documentary and memoir to tell her own story. On the same day in 2023, both the Netflix film Pamela, a love story and her book Love, Pamela were released. In 2022, Hulu released the fictionalized miniseries Pam & Tommy on her marriage to Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee and their sex tape that was stolen and released. “They should have had to have my permission,” Anderson said about the series.
