Billie Eilish has shared the trailer for the concert film of her ‘Hit Me Hard & Soft’ tour, directed by James Cameron.

Eilish confirmed the release of the concert film, Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour, last month during the final show of the tour in San Francisco. The film, which will be released in 3D, will arrive in cinemas on March 20.

In the trailer, Eilish looks incredulously from the window at groups of fans who have camped outside venues to get a good spot for the show. She taps on the glass to surprise them, to which they scream in delight.

Between clips of concert footage, Cameron himself is seen in the trailer. “No-one’s shot a concert film on this scale before,” he is seen saying. “We’re using tech that’s never been used before.”

Later, Eilish tearfully admits that she is playing her first ever show without her brother and creative collaborator Finneas.

Check out the trailer below:

“This has been one of my favorite tours everrrrrr and being able to capture it and co-direct this film with @jamescameronofficial has truly been a dream come true,” Eilish wrote on Instagram to announce the tour. “can’t wait for you all to see it.”

Eilish first teased the project this summer during a sold-out concert in Manchester where she revealed the collaboration with the Avatar filmmaker.

“So you may have noticed that there are more cameras than usual in here,” she told the crowd at the time, per The Hollywood Reporter.

“Basically, I can’t say much about it, but what I can say is that I’m working on something very, very special with somebody named James Cameron, and it’s going to be in 3D. So, take that as you will and these four shows here in Manchester, you and me are part of a thing that I am making with him. He’s in this audience somewhere, just saying.

“So don’t mind that, and also I’ll probably be wearing this exact outfit for like four days in a row.”

The tour has spurned numerous headlines, most recently following the fallout of her spat with Elon Musk, who she called a “pathetic pussy bitch coward” for not using his staggering wealth to help support important charitable causes across the globe.

Having called out numerous billionaires, it was later announced that Eilish herself would be donating $11.5million (£8.7million) from her ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft Tour’ to charities for both food equity and the climate crisis.

Elsewhere, the singer made headlines when she was violently grabbed by a fan at a Miami concert. The fan, who had attempted to drag Eilish into the crowd, was swiftly evicted and banned from the venue.

A fan was also praised for for jumping in to protect Eilish, and then sent merchandise from the artist herself and free tickets to another show.

When Eilish last visited the UK, we reviewed her show and gave it five stars, calling it “another sublime stint from an eternal star”: “It’s the perfect example of how Eilish has grown in the last three years and since the start of her career – always an artist who’s been able to write killer songs, but one who consistently finds a way to level up and tap deeper into universal emotions.

“Her latest O2 residency may be over now, but next time we see Eilish in London, we bet it’ll be with shows – and songs – that take her to even greater heights.”
