A man arrested for stalking pop singer Billie Eilish has been struck and killed by a train on Long Island, New York.
Prenell Rousseau was killed when a Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) train hit him in Westbury around 5:38 a.m. Wednesday, officials told the New York Post.
He was jogging “on or near” the tracks, and his death appeared to be accidental, a law enforcement source shared.
Rousseau repeatedly appeared at Eilish’s Los Angeles home in 2020 before she and her family sought an order of protection against him.
The Bad Guy singer alleged in court documents that Rousseau showed “erratic behaviour” as he appeared at the home she shares with her parents seven times, until he was finally arrested for trespassing.
“While we waited for security, Mr Rousseau remained on our porch, sat down and began to read a book while also continuing to engage in a periodic monologue,” Eilish said in court documents.
“My father repeatedly asked him to leave, but he refused.”
Eilish and her family were scared by Rousseau, in part because he wasn’t wearing a face mask in five of his appearances at the home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Eilish was granted a three-year restraining order against him, court records show.
Posts on Rousseau’s Instagram account included what appeared to be an illustrated version of the singer and a message that said, “Anyway – I love u b … that is all.”
LIRR is the busiest commuter railroad in North America. About 100 passengers on board the train boarded another LIRR train to complete their journey.
