Billy Strings performs in protective headgear after being hit by object on stage

Billy Strings performed while wearing a helmet after being hit by an object on stage the previous night.

The bluegrass musician was playing the first of three shows in Fishers, Indiana, on Thursday (August 6), when a fan threw an object – believed to be a lighter – at his head.

Ahead of the moment, Strings was telling the crowd how happy he was to be performing, after having to postpone a previous show. “Well, thank you so much, I’m so glad I can make it down here. To make up for last time,” he began, before the object hit him.

“What the hell man? Maybe not. Maybe I shouldn’t have come back,” he then reacted. “You know, why the fuck would you throw something at me? Is your dick really that small? I was just getting ready to say how much I’m happy to be here, and I love you guys and all this shit and then you throw something and it hits me right in the fucking head.”

He then gestured to the crowd, “Find out who that was and sodomise them, please.”

The next night, Strings emerged on stage with protective headgear. Watch both moments below.

In other Strings news, last year at Willie Nelson’s ‘Outlaw Music Festival Tour’ stop in Spokane, Washington, he appeared on stage alongside Bob Dylan to perform ‘All Along the Watchtower’.

A few months after that, Strings paid tribute to his mother in an emotional Lexington gig just hours after learning she had died.

And, in 2024, Strings offered fans refunds after missing a festival performance for the birth of his son.

He had been set to headline Renewal Festival in Buena Vista, Colorado, but had to travel back to Michigan to be with his wife, Ally Dale, as she gave birth to their first child.
