‘Bridgerton’ season four to feature orchestral covers of Charli XCX, Billie Eilish and more

Season four of Bridgerton is set to feature orchestral covers of artists including Charli XCX, Billie Eilish and more.

Created by Chris Van Dusen, the Netflix period drama offers an alternative take on London in the early 19th century, as the noble and influential Bridgerton family navigate the competitive social season.

The show’s fourth season pivots focus to bohemian second son Benedict, played by Luke Thompson. A synopsis reads: “Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down – until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.”

Other members of the cast include Yerin Ha, Nicola Coughlan, Luke Newton, Jonathan Bailey, Simone Ashley, Hannah Dodd, Victor Alli and Masali Baduza.

The show is well known for its orchestral re-workings of modern tracks. In the first part of the latest season, the show featured orchestral re-workings of ‘Life In Technicolor’ by Coldplay (performed by Vitamin String Quartet), ‘Enchanted’ by Taylor Swift (performed by Joseph William Morgan) and ‘All I Wanted’ by Paramore (performed by Vitamin String Quartet).

Now, it’s been announced that the new season will feature orchestral re-workings of Charli XCX’s ‘360’, Billie Eilish’s ‘Birds Of A Feather’ and ‘Never Be The Same’ by Camila Cabello. You can see the full list of covers below.

Last summer, Netflix announced the renewal of several of its hit original series, including Bridgerton.

Ever since season three wrapped in 2024, fans have been clamouring for more Bridgerton. At the launch, they confirmed when season four will launch and that it will return for a fifth and sixth season.

Netflix wrote in a letter to fans: “Rarely is this author granted the opportunity to share with you such information. It is with great pleasure I can announce Bridgerton shall return for Seasons 5 and 6. Do celebrate accordingly.”

In a three-star review of Bridgerton season three, Nick Levine wrote for NME: “Bridgerton may be more playful and progressive than most shows of this ilk, but it still relies on tired tropes like the need to beget a male son and heir. Thankfully, even at its cheesiest, it’s a treat to look at. Queen Charlotte’s brilliantly ridiculous wigs are set off by Rosheuvel’s scene-stealing facial expressions: her bored and haughty look is particularly meme-able.

“If you don’t have much of a sweet tooth, this still won’t be the show for you. But if you’re craving an early-summer pick-me-up, you’ll devour these warm and watchable episodes in one scrummy sitting.”
