Bruce Springsteen shares ‘Land Of Hope And Dreams American Tour (Philadelphia Freedom Cut)’ in bid to “reclaim the flag”

Bruce Springsteen has shared a ‘Philadelphia Freedom Cut’ from his ‘Land Of Hope And Dreams’ American tour, which captures footage of his live show.

Out now, the official video comes as his show in Philadelphia on May 30 was filmed in its entirety, and is set to be released in four segments.

This is the first of the four segments of footage, and captures the first seven songs of the tour’s Philadelphia finale – held at the Xfinity Mobile Arena.

To open the show, The Boss played Motown classic ‘War’ – originally written by Barrett Strong and Norman Whitfield – before following it with classic track ‘Born in the U.S.A.’ and ‘Death to My Hometown’.

From there, he broke out a cover of The Clash’s ‘Clampdown’, before going into ‘No Surrender’, ‘Darkness on the Edge of Town’ and his politically charged 2026 song ‘Streets of Minneapolis’, which was was written as a direct response to the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretty by ICE officers in January.

“I’m thrilled to be releasing our final show from the ‘Land of Hope and Dreams’ American tour — recorded in the birthplace of American freedom, Philadelphia, USA,” said Springsteen.

“On the tour, we rocked the house from one end of the country to the other and, while we were at it, we spoke up everywhere in defense of our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, and our sacred democracy — which are under attack by a lawless President and his regime. It’s all captured on our ‘Philadelphia Freedom Cut’ — hope you enjoy it.”

Check out the trailer for the ‘Land Of Hope And Dreams American Tour (Philadelphia Freedom Cut)’ above, and the full seven-song performance video below.

Musicians joining Springsteen on the tour included the E Street Band’s Roy Bittan (piano, synthesiser), Nils Lofgren (guitar, vocals), Garry Tallent (bass guitar), Stevie Van Zandt (guitar, vocals) and Max Weinberg (drums) with Soozie Tyrell (violin, guitar, vocals), Jake Clemons (saxophone) and Charlie Giordano (organ, keyboards, accordion).

Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello also performed with Springsteen and the E Street Band for each of the tour’s 20 shows as a special guest.

The ‘Philadelphia Cut’ is directed by Chris Hilson and Thom Zimny, and Springsteen is on board as a producer too alongside Jon Landau, Zimny and Adrienne Gerard. The video is released in memory of rock critic and author Dave Marsh, who died in August aged 76.

The ‘Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour (Philadelphia Freedom Cut)’ tracklist, part one, is:

1. ‘War’
2. ‘Born in the U.S.A.’
3. ‘Death to My Hometown’
4. ‘Clampdown’
5. ‘No Surrender’
6. ‘Darkness on the Edge of Town’
7. ‘Streets of Minneapolis’

More details about the remaining footage from the show will be released soon, and all three additional segments are set to be released chronologically throughout the rest of 2026.

Speaking to Rolling Stone about the decision to share the footage in segments, Springsteen said that it is purely a coincidence that the timing comes around the US midterms.

“It wasn’t specifically planned to fall into the midterms, but if it does, that’s great. Really, we just had Thom [Zimny] do the first seven songs to see what we had. I didn’t know what the show was like on film,” he shared. “I can’t wait another three, four months for the rest of the concert to be edited and have it finished. The whole thing, the pop-up tour, was about immediacy and being in this moment, providing something that I felt an audience, my audience, could use in this moment.”

Springsteen continued: “As soon as I saw it, I said, ‘This comes out now.’ Everybody said, ‘Well, what do we do with the rest?’ I said, ‘Well, we’ll serialise it is what we’ll do.’ And basically that’s what we’re going to do. You’ll be getting seven songs or so in four different compartments, and at the end of the day, you’ll have the whole show.

“I think it has more impact that way. The first seven songs, to my eye, have a tremendous amount of impact because it’s only 40 minutes. And anybody can spare that 40 minutes to get an idea of what we were trying [to do]. It’s 40 minutes, and it says everything we wanted to say.”

In other Bruce Springsteen news, last month the songwriting legend joined Bleachers on stage during their recent Asbury Park gig to perform ‘Jersey Girl’ and ‘Chinatown’. Before then, he made a surprise appearance during Bon Jovi’s Madison Square Garden show, joining them for ‘Who Says You Can’t Go Home’ and ‘The Promised Land’.

The Boss has also revealed that his wife and fellow E Street Band musician Patti Scialfa is in remission from cancer. “As you know, Patti’s been living with her multiple myeloma for over eight years, but now thankfully she is in remission,” he said.

Scialfa first publicly discussed her 2018 diagnosis in the 2024 documentary Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen And The E Street Band, explaining that the condition had weakened her immune system and led to limited appearances for her on tour.
