Bruno Mars returns with retro new single ‘I Just Might’: “It’s party time!”

Bruno Mars has returned with a brand-new single, ‘I Just Might’ – you can listen to it below.

The song is the first preview of the US singer-songwriter and producer’s fourth solo album, ‘The Romantic’, which is released on Friday February 27. Pre-order/pre-save here.

“You stepped inside with a vibe I ain’t never seen/ Yes you did, ooh/ Girl if you talk like you walk, come and talk to me,” Mars sings on the retro, funk-laced track.

“But look here/ It would break my heart, break my heart, break my heart if I find out you can’t move/ You better show me now, show me now, show me now / ‘Cause when I take you to the floor, ooh you gotta get down/ You know what to do/ Hey Mr DJ/ Play a song for this pretty little lady.”

‘I Just Might’ is accompanied by a ’70s-inspired music video, where five versions of Mars make up a live band, performing on an old-school TV set. He also dances under some multi-coloured lights in the visuals, directed by himself and Daniel Ramos.

Writing on social media upon his return, Mars said: “It’s party time! The self proclaimed Aura Lord is back.”

‘I Just Might’ was co-produced by Mars and D’Mile – the latter of whom worked on the songwriter’s 2021 record with Anderson .Paak as Silk Sonic, ‘An Evening With Silk Sonic’.

Since releasing the collaborative project, Mars has teamed up with Lady Gaga on the hit ballad ‘Die With A Smile’, worked with BLACKPINK’s Rosé on the huge joint track ‘APT.’, and featured on Sexyy Red’s single ‘Fat Juicy & Wet’.

‘The Romantic’ serves as the long-awaited follow-up to Mars’ multi-Grammy-winning solo album ’24K Magic’, which arrived in 2016.

Meanwhile, Mars joined Eddie Vedder, Slash, Yungblud, Anthony Kiedis and more to cover some rock classics at a lavish corporate Christmas party in New York.

In other news, the singer recently revealed that he was close to scrapping his hit Lady Gaga collab ‘Die With A Smile’, but changed his mind after learning that she was working on Joker: Folie à Deux.

Rosé and Mars’ ‘APT.’ was named as one of TikTok’s top 20 global songs of 2025 last month. The track had previously landed at Number 14 on NME‘s 50 best songs of 2024 list.

In a four-star review of ’24K Magic’, NME called the LP “half an hour of party tunes that sound like the best bits of ’90s R&B”. It added: “Few albums designed to sound like a party actually play like one, but Bruno Mars has pulled it off with style.”
