The track debuted alongside a pop punk-inspired music video conjuring up memories of Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl”
Bruno Mars and Blackpink‘s Rosé debuted their flirtatious new single “Apt.” — a nod to the Korean “Apartment” drinking game.
The vibrant track conjures up memories of Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl,” while Mars and Rosé bounce and bop across the punk pink screen and sing the chorus: “Don’t you want me like I want you, baby/Don’t you need me like I need you now/Sleep tomorrow but tonight go crazy.”
The pair teased the track on Thursday morning, sharing the cover image featuring Mars and Rosé sporting leather jackets with the “Finesse” singer sitting behind a drum set. The day prior, Mars hinted at their collaboration and posted a black and white photo with the Blackpink star, who he said “introduced me to this Korean drinking game and got me saucy.”
“Soon after, she tried to kiss me, and I was like ‘woah Rosie! what part of the game is this?’” he joked. “She was like, ‘I ain’t playin games wit you anymore lil boy! Big Rosie bout that BIDNESS!’”
Earlier this month, Rosé announced that she would be embarking on a new chapter of her music career and shared that her debut solo album Rosie would release on Dec. 6. “I have poured my blood and tears into this album. I cannot wait for you to listen to this little journal of mine,” Rosé wrote on Instagram at the time. “Rosie – is the name I allow my friends and family to call me. With this album, I hope you all feel that much closer to me.”
Mars’ last solo album was 2016’s 24k Magic, and he collaborated with Anderson .Paak for 2021’s An Evening With Silk Sonic. In August, he released “Die With a Smile” with Lady Gaga, who joined him for a live debut of their romantic ballad as Mars headlined the first-ever show at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. The song debuted at Number Three on the Billboard Hot 100.
