BTS triumph in London with record-breaking Arirang stadium shows and city takeover

BTS marked their highly anticipated return to the UK for the first time in seven years with two sold-out nights at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The groundbreaking performances on July 6 and 7 drew an estimated 130,000 attendees, setting a new record for the highest single-concert attendance since the renowned sporting and entertainment venue first opened its doors.

Performing on an immersive 360-degree stage, the acclaimed group blurred the boundaries between the audience and the performance space. The dynamic setlist featured brand new tracks from their fifth studio album, Arirang, including “SWIM,” “2.0,” “Hooligan,” and “Like Animals,” seamlessly blended with career-defining global hits like “Butter” and “Dynamite.” A major highlight of the evening saw the band parading around the stadium track alongside fifty dancers carrying traditional-inspired props and illuminated ribbons during an electrifying rendition of “IDOL.”

Beyond the stadium walls, the capital was completely transformed by an urban concert platform running throughout the week. The expansive citywide project invited fans to experience immersive events, landmark activations, and local collaborations across London. Major landmarks joined the celebrations, with the London Eye illuminated in honour of the tour and a specially themed boat cruising along the River Thames.

The group also partnered with the British Museum to present a special Korea Gallery Trail inspired by the new album. The curated trail invited visitors to explore significant historical objects, including an iconic moon jar and ancient artifacts from the Silla Kingdom, connecting Korea’s rich artistic legacy with the band’s modern storytelling. Concurrently, the Korean Cultural Centre UK hosted an exhibition featuring stage outfits from the band’s historic 2019 Wembley Stadium shows, while the Outernet district welcomed fans with interactive experiences to design custom apparel and personalise their light sticks.

Further integrating into the fabric of the capital, the project partnered with the annual Jung Festival to actively involve local small businesses. Fans were encouraged to celebrate the historic stadium dates by visiting independent restaurants across the city, including popular spots like SOOM, Bunsik, and Tokkia. The ambitious world tour spans 88 shows across 34 global regions, celebrating the group’s return to the international stage while creating a movement that connects regions, cultures, and generations.
