Scott’s new duet, a poignant version of Houston’s classic “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me),” was recorded with the full endorsement of the Houston estate. During his impromptu set, Scott performed a medley of the new track along with his global hits, including “Roots,” “You Are The Reason,” and his breakout hit, “Dancing On My Own.”
Known for his deeply emotional songwriting, Calum Scott has amassed over 10 billion streams worldwide, with his music often used to soundtrack significant moments in people’s lives.
“It was such a special moment to perform at St. Pancras International and be part of the longstanding legacy of public performances,” Scott said. “To celebrate the release of my duet with Whitney Houston in such an iconic London location felt really emotional. Her voice has inspired me for so long, and sharing this new version of ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ in this way was truly unforgettable.”
The performance adds Scott’s name to a list of world-class artists who have graced the station’s famous pianos, including Elton John, John Legend, Alicia Keys, and Rod Stewart.
Fans can look forward to the release of “Avenoir” on October 10th, followed by “The Avenoir Tour,” a massive 24-city headline run across the UK and Europe. The tour will culminate in a show at London’s OVO Wembley Arena on November 21st.
