Can You Picture Kelly Clarkson, Travis Barker and ‘Weird Al’ Cameos On New Muppets-Themed Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios?

If you’re bummed that the old Aerosmith Rock n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando is no more, take heart because beginning on May 26 you can picture an equally rocking new adventure starring the whole Muppets gang. Walt Disney World announced the details of the new Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets on Thursday (April 16), promising that the refresh will feature “high-speed thrills, zany comedy and an electrifying soundtrack.”

Guests in line will hear the beloved Electric Mayhem band rehearsing for their big concert by jamming on their iconic hit “Can You Picture That?,” which will set the stage for “the chaos, comedy and rockin’ fun that follows.”

Just like on the Aerosmith version, music is at the center of the Muppet ride, which will blast out energetic covers of rock and pop classics including Electric Mayhem versions of Blur’s rollicking “Song 2,” as well as the Dr. Teeth-led band’s collaborations with Kelly Clarkson on Katrina and the Waves’ “Walking on Sunshine,” Jennifer Hudson and the Roots’ Questlove lending their voices to the Ohio Players’ “Love Rollercoaster,” Def Leppard revisiting their 1983 Pyromania classic “Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop),” as well as Camilla the Chicken jamming with the house band on Steppenwolf’s “Born to Be Wild.”

In addition, while guests wait in line they’ll be entertained by cameos from a number of bold-name actors and musicians, including Awkwafina, Danny Trejo, Darren Criss, John Stamos, Neil Patrick Harris, Travis Barker, Yvette Nicole Brown, Wayne Brady and “Weird Al” Yankovic, among others.

The attraction’s backstory will unfold beginning in the coaster’s courtyard, which will tell the tale of legendary Muppet tycoon and Muppet Theatre owner J.P. Grosse’s purchase of G-Force Records and his hiring of nephew Scooter to run the business. Under his leadership, the iconic supersized guitar outside the coaster has been transformed with a psychedelic paint job, with the piano motif beneath it sporting one gold key in honor of Dr. Teeth’s iconic 14K chomper.

While waiting on line, visitors will get to watch the Electric Mayhem band recording new songs in the studio, with Scooter urging them to wrap things up so patrons can hop into their limos to blast through Hollywood on their way to the group’s concert.
