Cardi B has admitted an unusual beauty treatment made her hair “smell like garlic for six months”.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday, the I Like It rapper promoted her new haircare and beauty brand, Grow-Good.
Cardi took a hands-on approach to creating the products, even testing out combinations of avocado, aloe vera, and rosemary. However, her experimentation with garlic was a mistake.
“I put garlic, but I put it too raw on my hair. For six months straight, every time I sweat, I smell like a pasta bowl,” she sighed. “No garlic, I will never do that again. It didn’t work out. I had been doing rice water, onion water, but this time, I decided to go raw garlic… and I was smelling like a chicken Caesar salad for six months straight. It was so horrible.”
Elsewhere in the conversation, Cardi confessed she was “so overwhelmed” to be performing two sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City this week.
Noting scores of family members have reached out for tickets at the last minute, the Bodak Yellow hitmaker insisted the gigs will be a lot of “fun”.
“I make sure that it’s like a party. If I could give free liquor out, I would,” the 33-year-old teased.
In addition, Cardi confirmed she will be flying over the crowd at one point in the show – even though she is afraid of heights.
“(I do it) for the plot,” she smiled.
The mother-of-four is currently on her 35-stop Little Miss Drama Tour of North America.
