Baby number four is on the way for Cardi B. The rapper is expecting her first child with boyfriend Stefon Diggs, the wide receiver for the New England Patriots. She was all mama and no drama as she announced her pregnancy on CBS Mornings on Wednesday. “I feel like I’m in a good space. I feel very strong. I feel very powerful that I’m doing all this work,” Cardi told Gayle King. “But I’m doing all this work while I’m creating a baby, me and my man, we’re very supportive of each other.”
On Friday, Cardi will release her long-awaited second studio album, Am I the Drama? which follows her 2018 debut Invasion of Privacy. Speaking of, her official announcement comes after weeks of speculation about her pregnancy. Rumors kicked up after Cardi made a series of appearances in court while battling a civil trial over claims she assaulted a security guard during an argument seven years ago. Cardi emerged victorious, but her body quickly became the leading topic of conversation.
Cardi noted that, at the time of the interview, she hadn’t even broken the news of her pregnancy to her parents yet because she’s “scared of them.” And keeping it from the public was at least partially because she was working to “close some deals first.” Still, she feels “excited” and “happy” to be entering this new chapter with Diggs, who she said won her over by telling her, “Give me a chance for me to heal you.”
Cardi previously welcomed three children with Offset. The couple married in 2017, and she filed for divorce from the rapper in 2024. “He just makes me feel safe and very confident and very strong,” Cardi said about Diggs, who has one daughter from a previous relationship. The pair initially became linked through dating rumors in October 2024.
“I mean, like, two weeks ago, I was literally having a panic attack. I was, like, crying and crying and crying, just because I was just getting really nervous with you know, the whole album rollout,” Cardi continued. “People were coming at me very hard. You know, sometimes people love you, people hate you. And people was just saying very mean things about me.” But with Diggs, she said, “He makes me feel very confident… And it makes you feel like you could take over the world.”
Now that Cardi has made the big reveal the internet has been whispering about for weeks, she wants something in return. “Now y’all could buy my album so I can buy Pampers and diapers and all that type of stuff,” she joked. “I told you. Now go support my album, cause I’m a mother of four now.”
