Carmit Bachar breaks silence on ‘disappointing’ Pussycat Dolls reunion snub

Carmit Bachar insists she was “not contacted” about the Pussycat Dolls reunion.

The 51-year-old singer – who was a founding member of the Don’t Cha hitmakers – won’t be joining Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt and Ashley Roberts on the road for their upcoming tour, with Carmit, Melody Thornton and Jessica Sutta all missing out on the comeback.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Carmit wrote: “In light of recent developments, I feel it is important to speak honestly and respectfully.

“I was not contacted regarding the group’s decision to move forward, and I learned of these plans at the same time as the public.

“Given my history with the brand, having been part of its foundation long before its commercial debut and instrumental in the connections that led to the record deal… I would have appreciated direct communication.”

The singer – who still has “deep gratitude for the music we created” – insisted her time in the Pussycat Dolls “will always hold profound meaning”.

She continued: “While this is disappointing on a personal level, I remain proud of the role I played in helping shape what The Pussycat Dolls became.

“I believe the legacy of any group is built not only by those seen on stage, but also by the collective contributions and shared vision that brought it to life.

“My intention in sharing this is not to create division, but to honor the truth and the fans who have supported us throughout the years. Transparency and respect are values I hold deeply.”

Carmit noted she is “choosing to focus on my well-being and to move forward with positivity and purpose”, while she “open-hearted about the future and grateful for the continued love and encouragement I receive”.

Former bandmate Jessica took to the comments and insisted Carmit is “the reason the PCD got the deal with Interscope to begin with”.

She replied: “I remember hearing the story of when they discovered you when you were dancing for Gwen Stefani.

“They said, ‘WHO IS THAT?!’ The real ones who know the true history will never forget that. You’re an icon. I love you so much.”

Jessica, 43, shared her own statement over the weekend, insisting she was “never planning to return under the current circumstances”, while “ongoing health issues” mean she isn’t able to dance.

She added on social media: “When rumors about the three girls began circulating, I did try to reach out privately for several months.

“I didn’t receive a response until the night before the announcement, which meant I didn’t have much time to prepare for the reaction that followed online.”

Despite issues with communication, Jessica voiced her support for her former bandmates.

She continued: “That said, I genuinely wish the girls a successful tour and nothing but the best moving forward. I’m grateful for the experiences and memories I had with PCD, and I’ll always hold that chapter of my life close to my heart.”

Now a three-piece, The Pussycat Dolls have unveiled new single Club Song – their first fresh material since 2019’s React – as well as plans for anniversary reissues of PCD and Doll Domination.

They will also hit the road on the PCD FOREVER tour across the US, Europe and the UK.
