Last night, the Sacramento metal band took to social media to share that they’d be travelling Down Under next year as part of their ‘Private Music’ trek. The tour is set to take place in May, with stops in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Auckland.

Joining Deftones on the run of shows are Interpol, and singer-rapper Ecca Vandal.

Artist pre-sales go live tomorrow (November 18) at 1pm local, with general tickets going on sale on Friday (November 21) at 2pm local. You can get your tickets here.

Deftones’ 2026 Australia and New Zealand tour dates are:

MAY
02 – Sydney, Australia – Qudos Bank Arena
03 – Sydney, Australia – Qudos Bank Arena
06 – Brisbane, Australia – Brisbane Entertainment Centre
09 – Melbourne, Australia – Rod Laver Arena
10 – Melbourne, Australia – Rod Laver Arena
13 – Auckland, New Zealand – Spark Arena

In 2017, Deftones frontman Chino Moreno spoke to NME about he why loves Interpol‘s ‘perfect’ debut album ‘Turn On The Bright Lights’.

“I think every great band has that one time in their career when everything just comes together, lines up and is firing on all pistons,” Moreno told NME. “It all just works really well. I think ‘White Pony’ would be that record for us. Whatever chaos was going on around us, we were just completely in sync with each other and made this record that has an ebb and flow from the time you put it on until it’s over.”

He continued: “Most great bands have that record once; some have two or three. If you’re lucky enough to have one record like that, I’d say that’s Interpol’s record. It’s definitely a journey and there’s not a bad song on that record.”

Late last month, Deftones headlined the 2025 edition of their annual festival, Dia De Los Deftones, in San Diego, California. The show saw Chino Moreno and co. debut more tracks from their 10th and latest studio album, ‘Private Music’, and perform ‘White Pony’ deep cut ‘Street Carp’ live for the first time since 2019.

The band will head out on a UK and European headline tour early next year. The upcoming run of dates features a gig at The O2 in London, as well as stops in Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester, Dublin and Cardiff. Find any remaining tickets here.

The group are also set to perform at the inaugural Texas edition of US festival Sick New World next year.

In a glowing five-star review of ‘Private Music’, NME wrote: “Rather than just hang off the legacy of the immaculate classics ‘Around The Fur’ and ‘White Pony’, the Sacramento art-metallers have spent the 21st Century boshing out banger after banger as arguably the most reliable band in rock.”

It added: “‘Private Music’ once again finds the band as masters of beauty and brutality rolling over the horizon in one stunning but powerful storm. Batten down those hatches, throw up those horns, and lean in close.”
