In a landmark announcement for Australian music, SBS and Beyond Productions have confirmed that global powerhouse Delta Goodrem will represent Australia at the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest. Celebrating the contest’s 70th anniversary, the event returns to Vienna, Austria—the very city where Australia made its competitive debut in 2015.

Goodrem will perform her new single, “Eclipse,” a cinematic pop anthem released today. The track, which Goodrem co-wrote alongside Ferras Alqaisi, Jonas Myrin, and producer Michael Fatkin, is designed for the grand scale of the Wiener Stadthalle. Built on delicate piano motifs that swell into a soaring crescendo, “Eclipse” explores themes of clarity and alignment. The artist described the opportunity as a lifelong dream, noting her passion for the way Eurovision unites the globe through the “universal language” of music.

The accompanying music video, directed by Liam Pethick and produced by Mushroom Creative House, was filmed among the striking sand dunes of Newcastle, NSW. The visual narrative features Goodrem at the center of mirrored plinths, symbolizing a transformation from vulnerability to self-assured power—a creative vision that SBS Head of Entertainment Emily Griggs says is “built to leave a lasting impression.”

Goodrem’s selection brings a seasoned veteran to the world stage. Since her 23-times Platinum debut Innocent Eyes, she has sold over nine million albums worldwide and earned 12 ARIA Awards. Having previously written for Eurovision legend Celine Dion and collaborated with icons like Olivia Newton-John and Andrea Bocelli, Goodrem is uniquely positioned to handle the pressure of an audience of 160 million viewers.

Creative Director Paul Clarke hailed Goodrem as a “once-in-a-generation artist,” stating that “Eclipse” represents a bold evolution in her storied career. As Australia prepares to light up the stage in May, all eyes will be on Vienna to see if one of the country’s most beloved icons can secure its first Eurovision victory.
