Demi Lovato describes upcoming tour as ‘celebratory’

Demi Lovato has teased her first tour in four years, describing the upcoming shows as “very celebratory”.

The Heart Attack hitmaker has opened up about her It’s Not That Deep tour, which is set to kick off in Orlando, Florida on 13 April.

Speaking to Eli Rallo at 92NY in New York City, Demi said, “It’s really amazing to be in this era right now.”

“It’s very celebratory, very fun,” she continued. “I mean, that was really what the essence of the album was, was a reflection of where I’m at in my life today, which is I’m happier than ever, and I wanted my music to reflect that.”

The 33-year-old added that while she is looking forward to returning to the road for the first time since her Holy Fvck Tour in 2022, she is also feeling “a little nervous”.

“I’m very, very, very excited and a little overwhelmed, a little nervous, but I’m very excited, and I can’t wait to see everybody on the road,” she stated.

Demi also revealed she is particularly excited to perform songs from her latest album, It’s Not That Deep.

“I can’t wait to play music from It’s Not That Deep, but also songs that you are all already familiar with,” she shared.

The singer further hinted that the tour could feature unreleased material, teasing, “And there’s the potential to be playing even newer music.”

In an interview with People in February, Demi admitted she had previously considered stepping back from touring due to the physical and mental demands.

“I think what’s difficult for people to understand is how taxing it can be on the body, on the mind, so that’s the reason, probably, why I said that,” she stated. “It’s just a lot of work.”

However, the hitmaker added that interacting with fans ultimately outweighs the challenges, adding, “As hard as touring can be, it is so much fun, and that’s what I’m looking forward to, is the connection with my fans.”
