Last month, Mumford told NME that he had discovered Divorce through their NME The Cover interview, saying: “I would like to thank NME for introducing me to the band Divorce. They’ve just become one of my favourite bands in the world.

“We invited them out on tour with us,” he continued. “I saw them on an NME cover. I’d never heard of them, but now we’re fucking obsessed with them. They’re fucking incredible and more people should hear them.”

Now, he’s teamed up with the band for a reworking of their single ‘Antarctica’ – the opening track from their debut album ‘Drive to Goldenhammer’, which was released earlier this year.

Per a press release, the collaboration came about while Divorce were supporting Mumford & Sons on tour this summer, after Mumford joined the band for a duet on the song, which was shared on social media.

Speaking on the new version, co-vocalist and bassist Tiger Cohen-Towell said: “Meeting and playing shows with Mumford & Sons has been an immense privilege and a career highlight.

“They are the nicest guys,” Cohen-Towell continued. “When we first asked Marcus to sing on ‘Antarctica’ he seemed so genuinely excited; and what he ended up contributing to the song was so striking and tender that we needed to immortalise it to record.” Check it out below.

At the start of the year Divorce appeared on this year’s NME 100, and they have spent the summer playing smashing the festival circuit. This month also saw them open for The Maccabees at All Points East in London and support Bombay Bicycle Club at their shows in York and Liverpool.

This spring, the band spoke to NME for The Cover and opened up about their time starting out in Nottingham’s grassroots music scene with a “self-sustaining” community of artists.

“When you don’t get a lot of outside interest, you don’t have much choice but to make it yourself,” Mackenzie-Barrow said. “Sitting in the van on your way to a show and looking around at these friends that you have, sitting in the garden in the house where we wrote the songs, having dinner together. Those are the moments that feel like success.”

As for Mumford & Sons, the band will return to BST Hyde Park for 2026, playing in support of their sixth studio album ‘Prizefighter’.

The album is set to drop via Island Records on February 13, 2026 and will feature guest artists including Gracie Abrams, Hozier and Chris Stapleton. You can pre-order it here.
