Echo & The Bunnymen announce ‘Apples For Isaac’ – their first new album in 12 years – with nostalgic single ‘Brussels Is Haunted’

Echo & The Bunnymen have announced ‘Apples For Isaac’, their first new album in 12 years, with the nostalgic single ‘Brussels Is Haunted’.

The new record is due September 18 (pre-save/pre-order here), and will mark the band’s 13th studio album. It’s Echo’s first new record since their 2014 album, ‘Meteorites‘.

‘Apples For Isaac’ will also feature late drummer Clem Burke (Blondie, Ramones), who contributed to ten of the eleven tracks on the record.

Speaking of Burke’s appearance on the album, Echo & The Bunnymen said: “The mighty, legendary Clem Burke – longtime friend of Mac – was integral to the making of the album, and heartbreakingly passed away during its completion… love you Clem X”

Today, they’ve shared the nostalgic single ‘Brussels Is Haunted’ – take a listen to it and see the full tracklist for ‘Apples For Isaac’ below:

Echo & The Bunnymen’s ‘Apples For Isaac’ tracklisting is:

‘Take Me By The Hand’
‘Can’t Be Sold’
‘Brussels Is Haunted’
‘I’ll Be Your Sunshine’
‘Hijacked’
‘The Honey’
‘Unstoppable Force’
‘The Light That Surrounds You’
‘Lab Rats Ran’
‘Asimov’
‘We Prayed In The Dark’

Recently, Echo & The Bunnymen had to postpone a show last June due to a “road traffic incident”, causing frontman Ian McCulloch to receive medical treatment.

They were set to perform at Philadelphia’s Filmore on June 7, until McCulloch’s vehicle was involved in a “road traffic incident”. While a statement described his injuries as “not believed to be serious”, it stressed that the singer was left “understandably shaken by the incident”.

McCulloch had recovered enough to play a huge homecoming show at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool as special guests of My Chemical Romance by the end of June.

The band are soon to embark on a 2026 tour, including two huge dates at London’s Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. See a full list of dates below and get your tickets here:

Echo & The Bunnymen’s 2026 tour dates are:

JULY

AUGUST
7 – Gijón, ES – Fiestas Festival

SEPTEMBER

Elsewhere, NME gave Echo’s last album ‘Meteorites’ a three-star review in 2014. “The candour of the lyrics and song titles here is to be admired, (McCulloch candidly examines his mental health throughout, while one song’s called ‘Is This A Breakdown?’),” it read. “But, as a whole, ‘Meteorites’ fails to set the sky on fire.”
