Ed Sheeran finds ‘perfect balance’ between career and family

Ed Sheeran has revealed he’s found the “perfect balance” between his work and family life.

The British star is featured in the latest episode of Mythical Kitchen’s Last Meals, scheduled to air on Thursday, and discussed how he juggles his personal and private commitments.

Sheeran raises two daughters – five-year-old Lyra and three-year-old Jupiter – with his wife Cherry Seaborn, and feels happiest when his family travels with him.

“My girls have been on tour with me since the start of Mathematics,” Sheeran told host Josh Scherer, referring to the tour that ran from April 2022 to September 2025. “I feel like my life only works when we’re together.”

Sheeran went on to further discuss the touring arrangement, as he insisted the happiness of his young family will always champion his career obligations.

He continued, “And I think being at a stage in my career where my family life takes precedent and I can do all that as well – it’s kind of the perfect balance.”

Elsewhere in the interview, the 34-year-old Azizam singer was asked if he felt pressured into touring around the world.

Sheeran insisted his enjoyment for live performances hasn’t waned and he still “loves” entertaining fans during sell out shows.

“I don’t think any of it is obligation,” he replied. “I really enjoy my career. I love touring, I love songwriting. Touring has gotten to a point now, because of where my career’s at, that it can fit around my family and I can dictate what I do.”

Sheeran is currently preparing to perform across Europe in December, followed by shows in Australia, New Zealand and North America as part of The Loop Tour in 2026.
