Elon Musk had a bizarre response to Taylor Swift’s endorsement of U.S. presidential nominee Kamala Harris.
After coming under fire for her political silence, the pop superstar declared she was voting for Harris and her running mate Tim Walz in the presidential election in November.
Following the presidential debate between Harris and Donald Trump on Tuesday, Swift published a lengthy Instagram post which she signed off “Childless Cat Lady”, referring to a remark made by Trump’s vice presidential pick JD Vance.
Responding to her endorsement, Musk went viral on X after writing, “Fine Taylor … you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life.”
The tech billionaire, who is a vocal Trump supporter, has fathered 12 children with three women.
He later replied with a laughing emoji to a user who wrote, “Oh my God, this has really become an Elon vs Taylor Swift election now.”
Meanwhile, Swift received an outpouring of support for her declaration, with celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, Blake Lively, Oprah Winfrey, Demi Lovato and Chrissy Teigen liking her post.
Over on X, Bette Midler simply declared, “#TAYLORSWIFT endorses #KamalaHarris4President!!”
During an appearance on MSNBC, Harris’ vice president pick Walz thanked Swift for her endorsement.
“I am incredibly grateful to Taylor Swift and I say that as a fellow cat owner,” Walz said. “That was eloquent and that was clear and that’s the type of courage we need in America to stand up.”
The 34-year-old made her declaration days after she was criticised for hugging Brittany Mahomes, a believed Trump supporter, at the US Open. Mahomes is married to Patrick Mahomes, who is a teammate with of Swift’s American footballer boyfriend Travis Kelce.
