Evanescence to perform ‘Devil May Cry’ anthem at The Game Awards

Evanescence have announced they will be performing their Devil May Cry anthem ‘Afterlife’ at The Game Awards.

The Game Awards take place next week (December 11). As well as dishing out a number of trophies for gaming excellence, the live show will feature a number of announcements alongside a live performance from Evanescence.

Vocalist Amy Lee took to social media to confirm the band will be performing ‘Afterlife’, which was written for the Netflix adaptation of Devil May Cry. “I’m so excited,” she added. “And to all you Dante fans out there, there might be some exciting news about season two.”

The first season of Netflix’s Devil May Cry was released earlier this year and a second season was confirmed shortly afterwards. No release date has been shared but it’s expected to launch at some point in 2026. “Sinister forces are at play at the portal between the human and demon realms,” reads an official description from Netflix. “In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon hunter for hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck.”

‘Afterlife’ was released earlier this year and, according to Lee, was the first time the band were in the studio together since making 2021’s ‘The Bitter Truth’. A press release confirmed the band have spent most of 2025 working on new music together. Lee has also released a collaboration with Halsey and teamed up with Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante and Poppy for ‘End Of You’.

Next year, Evanescence are heading out on a massive world tour. “This year has been so inspiring in so many ways, creating so much new music, playing some bucket-list shows and working with so many artists that give us life,” said Lee. “We are taking all of that fire and energy and inspiration and building it into an epic 2026 for our fans.”
