Fans react as Justin Bieber performs in his boxer shorts at the 2026 Grammys for some reason: “Well, that’s certainly memorable, isn’t it?”

Justin Bieber took to the stage in his boxer shorts at the Grammys this weekend, and it has got fans talking online.

The singer performed at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles for last night’s ceremony (February 1), and delivered a memorable rendition of the song ‘Yukon’ from his album ‘SWAG’.

He took the term stripped-back performance to another level, taking to the stage just in his socks and boxers, and holding a pink electric guitar. Throughout the set, he took a step back from elaborate set designs or choreography, instead keeping his eyes closed and his arms crossed as he focused on the vocals.

For Bieber, the set marked his first time at the awards ceremony since 2012 and, while it isn’t exactly clear why he donned that specific look, it has unsurprisingly got fans talking.

Some seemed baffled by the look, taking to X/Twitter to share updates like “never thought in 2026 we’d see Justin Bieber outperforming everybody in underpants at the Grammys” and “Why is he not wearing any pants or shirt”, however, many others were quick to praise the songwriter instead – praising him for not going for a dramatic stage production.

“I’ll never stop talking about Justin’s Grammy performance, stripped down, mic on, nowhere to hide, no OTT show, just raw talent,” one wrote, while another added: “No dancers. No visuals. No clothes. No autotune. And Justin Bieber still had the best performance of the night.”

“JB’s raw, authentic rendition of ‘Yukon’ with a guitar, loop station and his naked self on Grammy’s stage. It’s an honest statement,” a third wrote, while someone else chimed in: “only Justin Bieber would pull up to a Grammys performance with nothing but shorts and socks on i love him fr”.

Others were more lighthearted about the whole performance, with one quipping: “Well, that’s certainly a memorable performance, isn’t it?”, and another simply joked: “Wait so did he just wear the guitar as an accessory to go with the boxers?”

i’ll never stop talking about justin’s grammy performance, stripped down, mic on, nowhere to hide, no OTT show, just raw talent. Burned by the media, called crazy whilst being open about his mental & comes back 4 years later to remind everyone he’s justin fucking bieber. CLOCK IT

— steven raposo (@stevenraposo6) February 2, 2026

No dancers
No visuals
No clothes
No autotune

And Justin bieber still had the best performance of the night, he doesn’t need a Grammy because he has TALENT pic.twitter.com/Dd19F30zi9

On the night, Bieber was nominated for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for his ‘SWAG’ record, and also for Best Pop Solo Performance for ‘Daisies’ and Best R&B Performance for ‘Yukon’. He did not win any trophies on the night.

It was Kendrick Lamar who secured the most wins, taking home trophies in all four rap categories and securing Record Of The Year for his SZA collaboration ‘Luther’.

Other memorable moments included Bad Bunny delivering an impassioned “ICE out” speech, and  Billie Eilish also hitting out at ICE after winning Song Of The Year for ‘Wildflower’.

Olivia Dean won in the Best New Artist category, and also appeared to subtly hit out at Trump during her acceptance speech.

Aside from Bieber, other performances on the night came from Sabrina Carpenter – who went for an airline theme – KATSEYE, Lola Young, Lauryn Hill, Olivia Dean, Pharrell Williams, Post Malone, and more.

There were also special tribute performances held for late artists, including D’Angelo, Roberta Flack, and Black Sabbath frontman, Ozzy Osbourne.
